Hadley Lloyd

Hadley Lloyd is a versatile drummer and music educator based in New York City, with deep roots in Boston and the greater New England music scene. Hadley has become a sought-after teacher and performer, united by a common goal of fostering connection and growth within the local community.

As a Performer:

Hadley as collaborated with and numerous musical projects, performing and recording across a wide spectrum of styles including funk, fusion, blues, jazz, folk, and Americana.

With a foundation in jazz and improvisational music, Hadley brings a keen ear for melodic nuance and rhythmic intricacies, always grounded by a strong commitment to groove. Whether locking into psych-funk pockets with The Oddlot, shaping moody textures with jazz-noire Savoir Faire, or lending her versatility as a session player for a variety of projects, Hadley’s playing is musical, responsive, and distinctly personal.

As a performer, Hadley has shared stages with acts like Goldford, Canyon Lights, GA-20, DeVotchKa, and The Blues Express, and has appeared at notable venues and festivals such as The Sinclair, Tupelo Music Hall, NHBank Pavilion (Hazy Little Stage) appearing for Luke Bryan, and the White Mountain Boogie and Blues Festival. In 2024, Hadley and Troy Mercy’s group won the Boston Blues Society's Best Blues Duo, earning a spot in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.

In the studio, Hadley recently joined forces with renowned engineer Rob Jaczko at Berklee College of Music to shape The Oddlot’s soon to be released debut EP, Brenda’s Basement, where improvisational spark meets production-level precision. Hadley was endorsed by Bosphorus Cymbals in 2025.

As an Educator:

Hadley has a passion for accessibility in music education and has dedicated her practice to supporting students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Holding an MM in Music Education (Autism Concentration) from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Hadley strives to create a learning environment where every student feels empowered, inspired, and motivated. She meets students where they are through adapted notation, individualized lesson plans, and the use of multiple learning modalities.

Hadley has experience teaching private lessons, early childhood general music classes, group rock bands, and drum circle workshops. While her primary instrument is the drum set, she can also teach beginner guitar, ukulele, and piano. Since 2019, Hadley has taught private lessons at the Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education (BIAAE), in addition to helping facilitate BIAAE’s rock band program and the ABLE Day Sessions summer program. She has taught in numerous private lesson settings in and around Boston, with a focus on supporting students with a range of disabilities, including autism, ADHD, visual impairment and/or blindness, Down Syndrome, apraxia of speech, dysgraphia, and other learning differences. Through differentiated, process-oriented instruction, Hadley strives to help each student develop a fulfilling, lifelong connection to music.

Hadley currently working on an accessible drum book with her colleague, Gretchen Hary, which introduces an adapted notation system for reading drum set sheet music. Hadley and Gretchen have co-presented about their project at the ABLE Assembly at Berklee College of Music in 2023.
